The Goal, Rewards, and Weigh Ins

The Goal is to be 150lbs by my 26th birthday, April 18, 2013. I started out at 217 and on June 3, 2008 I joined SparkPeople. At that point I weighed 210. I started tracking my food, walking at least 30 minutes a day (mostly a lot more), and getting in additional exercise. By the first week I had lost over 7 pounds and I knew I was in this for the long haul. SparkPeople helped motivate me to keep it up because of all the support that I found there.

Starting Weight: 217
Current Weight: 192
Mini Goal: 200 by 7/3/12 (MET)
Mini Goal: 190 by 7/20/12
Ultimate Goal: 150 by 4/18/12

Rewards:

Some people aren't wild about using rewards, but they help me move forward. I realize that the 50 pounds lost will be rewards enough and so will the health benefits, but I like rewards.  They give me something "tangible" to look forward to. I don't do "treats" though.

I find it fascinating that most people plan their vacation with better care than they do their lives.Perhaps that is because escape is easier than change.
